| Luciano Calderon (b.1986) is a graphic street artist based in Switzerland and Bolivia. Calderon’s work utilizes primitive figures and outspoken graphics to express his feelings of isolation from both law and society. Having both a foreigner’s and a native’s perspective, his work is heavily influenced by the extreme contrasts of life growing up between the clean and calm Swiss capital, Bern and the grimy but lively ghetto of El Alto, Bolivia. Calderon finished a degree in graphic design in 2007 and continued to travel between Europe and South America; living, working and drawing inspiration from both worlds. After his graduation, Luciano created the street wear brand Low Life Clothes utilizing subversive images from his artwork with a loud, youthful exuberance. In the first year of production, Low Life Clothes sold over one thousand t-shirts and Calderon is now recognized as one of the most talented artists of Switzerland’s urban street culture scene.
